From catwalks to carpets: Cannes 2011

Uno dei red carpets più prestigiosi si è concluso da poco, ma negli occhi di molte donne ci sono ancora il luccichio dei gioielli e lo sfarzo degli abiti indossati. Dedicherò tre post al Festival di Cannes 2011 e nel primo di questi vi propongo un confronto tra alcuni abiti indossati dalle celebrities e la loro versione "passerella".

Non sempre un abito, per quanto bello, si adatta ad ogni fisico. Voi cosa ne pensate? Queste celebrità hanno fatto la scelta giusta?

One of the most glamourous red carpets has just ended, but still there are the jewels sparkles and the luxury of dresses in the eyes of many women. I'll write three posts about the 2011 Cannes festival and in the first one I'll make a comparison between some dresses worn by celebrities and their "catwalk" counterpart.

No matter its beauty, sometimes a dress doesn't fit any figures. What's your opinion? These celebrities have made the right choice?

My photographic inspiration

 Oggi vorrei presentarvi una nuova rubrica del mio blog che parlerà di fotografia. Ho deciso di mostrarvi  i fotografi (per me dei veri artisti) che amo di più e che sono la mia ispirazione. Ho scelto di iniziare con Annie Leibovitz che è la mia preferita.

Today, I would like to introduce you a new little section of my blog which will talk about photography. I decided to show you the photographers (who are real artists in my opinion) that I love most and represent my inspiration.

I chose to start with Annie Leibovitz who is my favourite photographer of all.

Il 30 aprile è stato il mio compleanno e ho compiuto 26 anni...lo so sto diventando vecchia ^^ 

Volevo mostrarvi questi meravigliosi regali che ho ricevuto e non vedo l'ora di indossare!!!

I miei genitori mi hanno regalato la borsa di Tosca Blu che desideravo tanto (l'avevo anche inserita in questo post) e l'orologio di Emporio Armani. Il mio ragazzo ha scelto invece questa splendida pochette di Furla che è molto particolare nell'apertura. Ultimo, ma non meno importante, una coppia di amici mi ha regalato braccialetto e orecchini di J.Lo: sanno che adoro quella donna ^^ Ho persino una delle sue borse e alcuni capi di lingerie disegnati da lei per Yamamay. 

Quale vorreste vedere presto in un outfit?

April 30th was my 26th birthday...I know I'm getting old ^^ Anyway, I would like to show you these beautiful presents that I can't wait to wear!!!

My parents gave me the Tosca Blu bag that I longed for (I put it in this post too), and the Emporio Armani watch. My boyfriend chose the wonderful Furla pochette which is very particular in the opening. Last but not least, a couple of friends gave me the J.Lo earrings and bracelet: they know I love that woman ^^ I have one of her bags and the lingerie designed for Yamamay too.

Un weekend in villa

Oggi vorrei fare un post un pochino diverso per mostrarvi questo splendido posto che ho visitato alcune settimane fa con il mio ragazzo e una coppia di amici. Che dire...Stresa è bellissima già di suo, ma il parco che circonda Villa Pallavicino è semplicemente fantastico! Ci sono un sacco di piante e fiori e si ha anche l'occasione di vedere alcuni animali molto particolari. In realtà, non mi piace vedere gli animali in gabbia, ma qui fortunatamente, possono godere di spazi abbastanza ampi rispetto al solito e non ci sono molte specie al di fuori del loro habitat naturale. Quale vi piace di più?

Today I would like to write a post just a little bit different to show you this beautiful place I visited some weeks ago with my boyfriend and a couple of friends. Stresa is a small town on the Maggiore Lake, in the North of Italy. It's a lovely town, but the park that sorrounds Villa Pallavicino is simply wonderful! There are lots of trees and flowers and you have the chance to see some very particular animals too. Actually, I'm against the idea of caged animals, but here they fortunately have wider spaces than usual and there are not many species outside their original habitat. Which one is your favourite?

Surfing on Donna Moderna site (an italian magazine), I found an interesting quiz game in the fashion section about technical terms used in this field and I recommend it to you. I also used it as a source of inspiration to study new terms. I'm sorry for my English readers, but there's only the italian version. Anyway, if you want to wide your vocabulary I'll write the definitions of all terms here.

Lady and the Tramp

"Lilli e il Vagabondo" è uno dei miei cartoni animati Disney preferiti e quindi non potevo farmi scappare questa splendida t-shirt firmata Oysho. Ho scattato queste foto l'altra settimana quando sono passata davanti a Palazzo Reale e all'enorme scultura di Mimmo Paladino "La montagna del Sale". Ho anche visitato la mostra dedicata ad Hayez alla Pinacoteca di Brera: la consiglio a tutti gli amanti di questo pittore perchè si ha l'occasione di vedere riuniti alcuni dei suoi capolavori e dei quadri appartenenti a collezioni private. Mi spiace per i capelli, ma c'era un sacco di vento e non riuscivo davvero a tenerli fermi ^^

"Lady and the Tramp" is one of my favourite Disney's movies. So, when I saw this wonderful Oysho's t-shirt, I couldn't let slip the chance. I took these photos last week when I passed by Palazzo Reale and the huge Mimmo Paladino's sculpture "The mountain which rises up". I've also visited the art exhibition dedicated to Hayez at the Pinacoteca di Brera: if you have the chance, I heartily recommend you to visit it because you'll have the chance to see some of his most well-known masterpieces gathered together or coming from private collections. I apologize for my hair, but it was very windy. ^^
